A minimalist black-and-white performance piece, Lungful is an intimate collaboration between Dušan Kačán and Douglas Dare. Shot and edited solely by the two of them, the film embraces simplicity at every level. Stripping the frame of distraction, it places Douglas alone at the piano, shaped by light and shadow. The static camera and measured pacing create a sense of suspended time, allowing the raw physicality of the performance to carry the emotional weight. Reduced to its essentials, the video mirrors the song’s tension and vulnerability—an exploration of closeness, presence, and the fragile architecture of a single breath.
